What is the use of Wellbutrin?

Wellbutrin, is one of the best prescription antidepressant in the market. It is used to treat major depressive disorder and seasonal affective disorder.

Usages

Directions for Intake:

• Wellbutrin is taken orally, as often as indicated in the prescription of your doctor
• Finish the entire amount that was prescribed even after beginning to feel better
• It is best not to take this medication near bedtime
• Take any missed dose as soon as it is remembered. However, do not double the dosage of your medication at any particular assigned time
• In case of overdosing, seek medical attention immediately

Directions for Storage:

• Store this medication in a place away from moist, light and extreme heat
• The appropriate temperature for the storage area is between 59 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit or 15 to 30 degrees Celsius
• Also choose a storage area that is not easily accessible to children

Side Effects

• Mild side effects include dry mouth, headache, increased sweating, nausea/vomiting, constipation, anxiety, fatigue, and blurred vision
• Severe side effects include unusual weight loss or gain, palpitations, agitation, trouble sleeping, tremor, dizziness, fainting, mood changes, slowed movements, difficulty urinating, decreased sex drive, drowsiness, seizures, mental problems, fever, muscle aches, and yellowing of the eyes or skin
• May cause an allergic reaction to some people

Warnings

Precautions:

• Consult your doctor before taking Wellbutrin. Make sure to give your doctor a complete background of your medical history
• Inform your physician of any other prescription or over-the-counter medications that you’re currently taking, especially the following medications: astemizole (Hismanal), cisapride (Propulsid), triazolam (Halcion), midazolam (Versed), antacids, stomach acid reducers, and stomach ulcer medicines.
• Inform your physician of any previous experience of having epilepsy or a seizure disorder , eating disorder such as anorexia or bulimia , liver or kidney disease, and any allergies to medication
• This medication may cause increased suicidal tendencies
• This medication may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Activities that require you to be alert (i.e. driving or operating heavy machineries) should be avoided
• Elderly patients may be more sensitive to the effects of Wellbutrin
• If you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant, consult your doctor before taking Wellbutrin
• If you are lactating, it may be harmful to use Wellbutrin
